Thanks to the support of Patagonia and A Reason to Survive, I am currently working on a book that aims to compile an encyclopedia of all the materials found locally that can be utilized for vernacular art and cultural expression.

I strongly believe that biomaterials are the future. With that said, I imagine a future in which every region of the world has its own library of biomaterials. Each made from the ingredients found locally; not transplanted from elsewhere.

​

For this to become a reality we first have to reconnect with our local environment and experiment with what already grows here.

​

This book is the first step in making this vision a reality.  My hope is that it will help other artists, scientists & makers create art & culture that breathes in harmony with our region.
